Australian fashion brand Zimmerman has opened it’s first Florida store at Bal Harbour shops. Zimmermann Headquarters are located in Sydney, while the brand also operates offices and showrooms in New York, Los Angeles and London. Zimmermann has received multiple fashion awards, including the Australian Fashion Laureate award, amongst others.
Zimmerman creates some of the world’s best swimwear, posing the boundaries of new designs and technical components while remaining completely flattering to any body, as well as a full ready-to-wear for any occasion collection. A balance of sophistication, playfulness, dreamy flowy dresses, featuring beautiful prints and colours.
I recently met Nicky and Simone at Bal Harbour shops for the opening of their new flagship store in Miami, we were treated to a wonderful lunch at Makoto and had the opportunity to chat with them, they were friendly and easy to speak to. As a Fashion student merging into a market with lots of competition having an insight of the business from Simone who looks after everything else to do with the business and provides Nicky confidence and the ability to design. It was reassuring to listen from a voice of experience to continue the career I always dreamed off as well developing Rent Your Couture. Nicky studied fashion in 1989 at what was then called East Sydney Tech (now The Fashion Design Studio at Ultimo TAFE), home of many of Australia’s most talented designers including Akira Isogawa and more recently Dion Lee: her teacher, Nicole Huxley, was a fellow nominee of this year’s Laureate award.
